So productive!
I have to say that I am surprised that I am getting as much done as I have with Adam gone on a business trip. The first night we stayed with my mom and Syd and I slept by the cozy fire. I had the best sleep I have had in a while. She is so cute in that bassinet. Last night we stayed home and I did ok without any help.
Today she smiled at my while I danced. I was listening to my mp3 player and she was listening to her leapfrog worm. I am not sure that the dancing matched but she sure liked it. I wish Adam had been there to see it! I have tried to get her interested in toys but she could care less as I wave them back and forth trying to get her to track something...then later I waved my fingers, of all things, from a few feet away and she followed them! I think this falls into the unexplained category with why children prefer the box the toy came in to the toy itself.
I have been concentrating on getting her to eat more and to stretch her feedings out a bit. I feel like I am feeding her all the time. My main goal was to get more of her daily intake in her during the day in hopes that she will sleep longer at night. I ordered another book on getting babies to sleep. I hope it helps. I spent a while yesterday talking with my friend, Beth, about sleep patterns. She seemed just as perplexed as I am. Just another reminder that all babies are different...even her two are different from each other. I am still convinced that there is a formula to getting them to sleep longer at night so I am not going to give up!

Hey there Jessica,
We sure are missing you around the office but I know you are enjoying yourself....I would be too. Can't wait to meet Sydney; she is just adorable! I was telling Carol the other day that, to me, she looks as if she favors you through her eyes. The Lord definitely works wonders huh?!.
Thanks so much for allowing us to share in your lives with her.
Have a great day,
Connie and your co-workers, MRC
Jess- it's called dream feeds!! I thought I made it up and then I read about it in a book. Before you go to bed put a bottle in her mouth while she's sleeping to "top her off" She'll take a couple of ounces in her sleep and never know it happened!! It really helped us and I would only have to get up to stick a paci in his mouth at about 3, but that I could do without waking up.
Maggie
