Adam and Jess,
After reflecting on these circumstances and thinking of both you and Katie, I am reminded of Jocabed, the mother of Moses. To save her baby she gave him to Pharoah's daughter. Jocabed took a chance to ensure the safety of her son. Katie has also risked much and sacrificed greatly for her daughter. I know her heart is breaking, but she obtained grace to see that her child will have a better life with the two of you. (The analogy breaks down at several places, but the general principle remains.)
My admiration for her and the two of you could not be higher. Perhaps God will be pleased to make a trophy of grace out of Sydney and her generations to follow. My cup is running over.
