Sleeping Patterns
I think I have been in denial about getting Syd on a schedule. It is easy to just go with the flow when you are home all day but with my upcoming schedule changes and the "wear and tear" that the night feedings are putting on my body and nerves I think that I need to get serious with this feeding and sleeping thing. I can't expect her to sleep on her own. I know some babies do it but she obviously was not invited to be in that club so it looks like it will be up to me to earn her a membership.
Every night for the past week I have said that I was going to put her in her crib instead of the cradle in our room. Tonight is the night. She is in there now sound asleep after a big evening out and I think I can make it. I have the monitor plugged in and a path cleared through the piles of clothes on the floor in her room. She is just so sweet that I think I will be sad to not be able to see her asleep next to my bed. Really though I think this is for the best. Better to switch her now when she doesn't know the difference. Any later and she might be old enough to know what she is missing. Maybe I should have both monitor recievers plugged in just in case one goes out during the night... or I could sleep on the couch to be closer. Now that I think about it she did sleep in the other room while we were in Utah. I remember how afraid I was that I wouldn't hear her when she was ready for a bottle. I remember how tired I was then. I am pretty tired now too. It might be easier to have her in our room for a few more weeks...I think I will just go look at her and see how she is doing...but not move her...unless she happens to wake up while I am in there....
